It is really a very beautiful place. It is officially the Republic of Slovenia. It is the country in southern Central Europe bordering Italy, the Adriatic Sea and Croatia to the south.  Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia. There are various things on the Slovenia's history; the country has been part of the Roman Empire. It is partly the Republic of Venice, the Holy Roman Empire, the Habsburg Monarchy, the Austrian Empire, the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs, the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. It is partly Kingdom of Italy, between the two World Wars, occupied by Hungary, Italy, Germany and Croatia. There is the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia which gained independence in 1991.

European Union has the communist member which is the Slovenia. There is the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. In the 6th century Slavic ancestors settled in the area. In the 7th century, the Slavic Duchy of Carantania was formed. In 745, Carantania was incorporated into the Carolingian Empire. The slavs living in present Slovenia converted to Christianity. Carantania retained its internal independence until 828 & the anti-Frankish rebellion of Ljudevit Posavski. Under the Emperor Arnulf of Carinthia Carantania, now ruled by mixed Bavarian-Slav nobility, shortly emerged as a regional power, but was destroyed by the Hungarian invasions in the late 9th century.

The borderlands of the Carolingian Empire were turned into the lands for the army camps. President is the head of the state, who is elected by popular vote every five years. The executive branch is headed by the prime minister and the council of ministers or cabinet. They are also elected by the parliament. The province of Carinthia is the southernmost Austrian province; it is close to 280 km long, but in some areas only 45 to 50 km wide. The western part of the province is characterized by the Austrian High Alps and the eastern part features wider valleys. There are also the medium-altitude Mountains. Carinthia is an extremely popular tourist destination, famous for the best lakes.
